Water Treatment Details as supplied by Northwest Aquatics

Below is a summary of treatments and an explanation of how these treatments work:

  • Our first treatment was treated with FLURIDONE for SUBMERGED VEGETATION. These herbicides are slow acting and systemic to begin killing the root of the plants that are present. This treatment reduces the volume of the plants, but not the footprint of the plants. Aquatic plants continuously grow from April – September, so if you see a lot of plants, even after we’ve treated that area, we didn’t miss them, they’re mostly new growth.
  • Our second treatment would be treated with DIQUAT, AQUATHOL, FLUMIGARD for SUBMERGED VEGETATION. These herbicides are fast acting and continue to reduce the volume of the plants.
  • Shallow areas, especially near the shorelines, will have the highest volume of plants due to sun, high temperatures of the water, nutrients, and lower recreational activity.

We do not guarantee eradication of any aquatic vegetation: treatments reduce the volume of the plants, and over time will reduce the volume and footprint of the plants. We provide treatments that are proven to reduce the volumes of aquatic vegetation and are good for the health of the lake.
